Pour réalisé ce type de composition avec des reflets naturels, il convient de poser son A.P.N. a ras le sol, j’appelle ça la Technique Yale !!! LOL .

L’idéal est d’utiliser un G.A ou U.G.A, pour ma part ces photos sont réalisé avec mon Sigma 10/20.

Il convient pour finir de faire sa M.A.P sur un détail placé sur la ligne d’horizon, de laisser appuyer sur le déclencheur a mi-parcours, d’avoir une focale comprise entre f/9 et f/11 et de poser son appareil a ras de l’eau ….

Voila !!!

Serene Boat

Voici un traitement HDR à partir d’un seul fichier en RAW :

Pour ce faire je vais créer 3 fichiers en Tiff ( 16 bits ) dans Capture NX2 en modifiant l’exposition de ma photo pour obtenir ceci ( -2 //0 //+2 ), je ne modifie que légèrement ma BDB que je trouve adéquate pour cette scène.

une fois cela de réalisé, je vais importer mes 3 fichiers dans Photomatix Pro en utilisant l’outil Tone Mapping :

J’enregistre mon travail et j’ouvre Capture NX2 afin d’utiliser un filtre de la société Color Efex Pro ( Graduated ND ) :

J’enregistre mon travail et j’ouvre maintenant Photoshop pour finaliser mon travail :

dans un premier temps je duplique mon originale et sur celui ci que je renomme : Poussiere enlevée / tampon de duplication , je viens comme le suggère le titre enlever avec l’outil de duplication les quelques petites particules indésirables.

je duplique une nouvelle fois ce calque que je renomme : flou de surface sur l’eau. J’applique un filtre de flou de surface ( Rayon : 6 // Seuil : 11 ) celui ci s’applique a toute ma photo ce qui n’est pas le but de l’opération, de ce fait je créer un masque de fusion et avec l’aide de l’outil pinceau je vais gommer ( couleur Noir ) les parties non concernée par ce rendu.

je vais créer ensuite coup sur coup deux calques de balance des couleurs, un pour la tonalité bleu que je vais appliquer sur le bateau et la tonalité verte que je vais appliquer sur le paysage .. on utilise le même principe du pinceau ici aussi pour faire apparaitre uniquement la ou les parties voulues.

un nouveau calque Vibrance pour relever legerement les couleurs tout en desaturant aussi ;-)

un dernier filtre sera appliqué : Luminosité/Contraste afin d’accroitre en son centre la luminosité et de créer ainsi un leger vignettage sur les cotés

Voila ce que cela donne dans Toshop … : ( cliquer sur l’image pour l’agrandir )

Un Script final pour accentuer legerement les details avant d’enregistrer en Jpeg et voila le resultat final ;-)

Q // Who are you?

Q // How did you get into photography?
I have always been interested in the arts. Photography is the perfect way for me to express my creativity and capture the beauty of the natural world.

Q // Why did you choose to use Flickr?
I came across flickr by chance and was impressed with the quality of images on the site. I signed up and started to post a some of my own work. Interacting with other photographers on flickr has inspired me to try new things and grow as a photographer.

Q // What sort of equipment and software do you use?
I own a canon 40D and recently purchased a canon 5d mark ll. I have several L series canon lenses ranging from 16mm to 300mm. I initially used apple aperture for my digital processing and storage. I purchased photoshop cs4 and photomatix pro in september 2009. I am currently using cs4 and photomatix for most of my photo editing work and still use aperture for storing and managing my images. I have much to learn when it comes to post-processing.

Q // What is your opinion on post-processing, especially enhancing pictures?
I am intrigued by post processing. As I said, I have much to learn in the post processing department. I look at photography as an art form. I am more concerned with the finished product. All the processing or enhancing in the world cannot turn a bad photograph into a great piece of art. If I can find a way to improve one of my photos, I am all for it!

Q // Where is your favourite location to take pictures? ( Seascape // Landscape // Cityscape …. ? )
Anywhere in the natural world. I love landscapes, waterscapes and would love to try my hand at cityscapes.

Q // Where is the most spectacular place you’ve ever been?
Unfortunately, my current work and family status does not allow extensive travel. I would love to travel the world with my camera.

Q // What would you say to other enthusiast photographers out there who aspires to what you’ve achieved?
Be persistent and don’t be afraid to try new things. Keep an open mind and photograph things that you are passionate about.

Q // Are you going to consider a career in photography for future ?
I would love to sell some of my work… I will continue to build my portfolio, who knows maybe I will get lucky!

Q // Who are you?
I am Fulvio from Italy. I never stop to move anyway :-)

Q // How did you get into photography?
Well, I started very young using my parents’ camera. Just for a joke. I started again two years ago when I was waiting for my beloved Didì

Q // Why did you choose to use Flickr?
Just because I knew it… :-)

Q // What sort of equipment and software do you use?
CAMERAS: EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 40D
GEARS: EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 135mm f/2L USM, EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
FLASH: Speedlite 580EX II… but I have to study for this one

I essentially use Adobe Lightroom and just a little bit of Photoshop. Btw, I don’t move pixels

Q // What is your opinion on post-processing, especially enhancing pictures?
Years ago (ages ago??? :-) ) other processing techniques were used… almost analogue. I guess that none of my photo is SOOC. Obviously I don’t like those shots were the processing is too evident or even not well performed.

I guess I should say: NORWAY

Q // Who are you?
My name is Lars van de Goor. Born in 1964 in The Netherlands, on a houseboat, next to a farm, located between lakes and meadows.

Q // How did you get into photography?
My whole life I have been a musician and only three years ago I bought my first camera. I always wanted to have one but in the end I always chose to buy a new instrument instead. And my first memory is actually not with the camera but without, I was cycling through Amsterdam and I saw a bouquet of flowers on the road, but totally flattened by a truck or so. It looked like a modern fossil, because it was slightly frozen. Those were the times I regret I did not have a camera.

Q // Why did you choose to use Flickr?
Someone pointed this out to me 3 years ago and told me this was a place to show your work and share with many photographers. Flickr was my first site.

Q // What sort of equipment and software do you use?
Panasonic DMC FZ 50, Canon EOS 5D Mark II

Q // What is your opinion on post-processing, especially enhancing pictures?
First of all, my composition are 99% genuine, the only editing I do is coloring and get rid of garbage,lanterns, things like that.
But the most important thing is, am i touched by an image?, enhanced or not.
You know the stories about people having a Rembrandt in their house for years and adored it. Then an expert told them it’s a fake and now they got sick even look at it :-) You have to look with your heart and not with your brain!

Q // Where is your favourite location to take pictures? ( Seascape // Landscape // Cityscape …. ? )
Landscape and forests ;-)

Q // Where is the most spectacular place you’ve ever been?
I believe that was a very ancient forest in The Netherlands called: “Het Speulderbos” It’s a very magical forest

Most important: have fun, be patient… enjoy the moment and if you encounter something beautiful or special, capture it!… it will never come again!

Q // Who are you?
I´m Alonso Díaz and come from Andalucía, in the South of Spain :)

Q // How did you get into photography?
Through my passion for the cinema, always wondering why people do everything and thinking a lot about scenes :)

Q // Why did you choose to use Flickr?
I don´t know. A friend of mine invited me to sign up and since that moment I´ve felt very comfortable

Q // What sort of equipment and software do you use?
I use Sony Alpha 900 and Carl Zeiss lens. A bit of CS3 for some of levels and curves, but not not much, I like having the 90% of the picture in the cam

Q // What is your opinion on post-processing, especially enhancing pictures?
This is an art… and as this people has different points of view. I don´t like doing hard processing, just a bit of level and curves and some of focus mask, but it´s just my own taste :)

Q // Where is your favourite location to take pictures? ( Seascape // Landscape // Cityscape …. ? )
I love seascapes because I can play with the motion of waves. But every nee place is a new challenge :)

Q // Where is the most spectacular place you’ve ever been?
Not sure, but probably, Atitlan Lake in Guatemala

I said them that try to reach their own style and think before taking the photo… think about what they want to take before shooting

Not to make a living, but it is interesting to do it more serious than a simple hobby

Lights Stories

Sur cette composition je me suis amuser a rajouter un éclair et a essayer d’obtenir la sensation que cela se produit de nuit aussi … ;-)

voici le RAW original ….

J’ouvre mon RAW comme d’habitude dans Capture NX2, je modifie ma BDB en choisissant des tons froids ( 4000 kelvin ) et en accentuant les détails (+9)

une fois cela de fait, je vais créer au total 3 fichiers avec des expositions différentes ( -2 // 0 // + 2 )

ce qui donne cela  :

J’enregistre en .Tiff 16 bits et je l’ouvre dans Photomatix Pro afin d’obtenir un fichier HDR en passant par l’étape du Tone Mapping :

j’enregistre ( toujours en Tiff ) et je vais améliorer le contraste une première fois en jouant avec l’outil courbe en la modifiant en “S” dans NX2 ( j’aurais pu tres bien le faire dans Photoshop aussi … :-) )

Maintenant je vais procéder a l’ajout d’éclair que j’ai trouver sur le site Deviant.art : ( En cliquant sur l’image ci-bas, vous arrivez sur l’URL de celle-ci …. )

Lightning by *Stock-by-Kai

J’ouvre les 2 fichiers dans Photoshop et je vais copier l’image de l’éclair dans celle du phare en la faisant glisser, puis j’étire celle-ci afin de l’harmoniser niveau taille.

Je crée un masque de fusion à coté de mon Calque 1 ( éclair ) que j’associe avec  mon arrière plan copie ( phare ) et avec l’outil pinceau je vais venir faire ressortir les détails du phare et accentuer la luminosité autour des zones de l’éclair en jouant à chaque fois sur l’opacité et la taille de mon pinceau, jusqu’à obtenir un résultat probant.

j’ajoute un réglage de luminosité/contraste : Luminosité -8 & Contraste +6, que je vais appliquer par masque de fusion sur le haut et à gauche de l’image pour venir foncer les détails autour de l’impact de la foudre ….

PS : en ce qui concerne la “fusion” de mon calque 1( éclair ), j’ai opté pour lumière tamisée …

Une fois satisfait, je vais juste améliorer quelques petites choses :

* Utiliser l’outil Rotation dans : Edition —>Transformation Manuelle; pour légèrement modifier l’axe de la photo ( le phare n’étant pas totalement droit )

* Rajout de partie lumineuse de l’éclair sur le haut de l’impact avec l’outil Tampon de Duplication.

*Effacement des zébrures occasionnées par l’éclair sur la partie gauche du phare avec l’outil Tampon de Duplication.

voila le résultat final …..

Q // Who are you?
Je suis un quadragénère averti, marié à une instit anciennement sage-femme, père de 2 garçons de 17 et 18 ans en pleines études.
Je suis coordinateur prod dans un gros groupe allemand.
J’habite en Alsace, région très contrastée à forte identité. J’aime cette région pour sa diversité dans laquelle existe toujours mille choses à voir.

Q // How did you get into photography?
La photo est arrivée très tard chez moi, il y a 5 ans à peine. La retouche photo encore plus récemment quand j’ai découvert quelques trésors sur Flickr.

Q // Why did you choose to use Flickr?
Flickr a été un choc pour moi : arrivé par hasard sur mon écran, il m’a instantanément ouvert les yeux sur un monde insoupçonnable de créativité !
La voie était toute traçée : il fallait coûte que coûte que j’y participe un peu ! Flickr est une véritable école pour celui qui est motivé !

Q // What sort of equipment and software do you use?
Paradoxalement, je n’attache pas trop dimportance aux outils : comme tout outil, il ne sert qu’à prolonger les idées et aider à les mettre en oeuvre.
Depuis 1 an, j’ai un Nikon D90 avec un objectif de base, un 18/105 mm. C’est tout !
J’ai aussi eu un bridge Lumix FZ18, tout en plastique, mais il faisait correctement son boulot.
Pour retoucher, j’utilise une vieille version grand public de Photoshop : Photoshop Elements 4, associé à quelques plugins et Photomatix pour le hdr.

Q // What is your opinion on post-processing, especially enhancing pictures?
Je suis bien conscient que certains puristes rejettent un peu cette manière de présenter les images, mais il faut se rendre à l’évidence : toutes les photos qui veulent exister sont retouchées : certains diront que l’art consiste à retoucher sans que ça se voit : pourquoi pas !
Ce que je préfère est justement que ça se voit : une image est d’abord une émotion, qu’importe la méthode…

Q // Where is your favourite location to take pictures? ( Seascape // Landscape // Cityscape …. ? )
J’ai la chance de pouvoir shooter dans des endroits très différents mais j’ai un petit faible pour les zones sauvages, marécageuses.
Le portrait me tente aussi mais est trop difficile à mettre en oeuvre dans ma vie de tous les jours.
La vie dans la ville est aussi tentant, mais là, je crois sérieusement manquer de créativité…. dommage !
…. Je crois que j’aime tous les genres…. :-)

Q // Where is the most spectacular place you’ve ever been?
Je suis très casanier, l’endroit le plus spéctaculaire est donc,…. l’Alsace bien sûr, en particulier l’hiver il y a 3 ans : une immense zone innondable complètement gelée, soleil rasant, une légère brume au raz du sol et les arbres croulant le givre ! Fantastique, un vrai cadeau venu de nulle part,… mais, pas de photo, cause boulot, boulot, boulot ! (Ça s’est bien calmé)

Q // What would you say to other enthusiast photographers out there who aspires to what you’ve achieved?
Je dirai simplement que la motivation fait la moitié du boulot : l’autre moitié c’est l’oeil et rien d’autre !

Q // Are you going to consider a career in photography for future ?
Houla, non, bien sûr : si c’était à refaire, je n’hésiterai pas une seconde : maintenant pour moi c’est un peu plus compliqué, je ne suis plus d’une première fraîcheur et le métier me semble un peu zone sinistrée à voir les pros autour de moi fermer boutique.
Mais dans ma prochaine vie, oui, à fond dedans !!!!!

Q // Your 5 favourites pictures on your stream ?
C’est bien difficile mais ces 5 là sont dans celles que je préfère car c’était pas gagné à la prise de vue…
